Catholics believe the Eucharist is not a symbol, but Jesus Christ Himself—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

At the Last Supper, Jesus said:
“This is My Body… This is My Blood.” (Matthew 26:26–28)
He did not say “this represents.” He said this is.
In John 6, Jesus taught:
“My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.”
When disciples struggled with this teaching, Jesus did not correct them—He let them leave, showing He meant it literally.
At Mass, through transubstantiation, the bread and wine truly become Christ, even though their appearance remains the same.
The early Church believed this from the beginning. Around A.D. 107, St. Ignatius of Antioch wrote:

“The Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ.”
The Eucharist unites us to Christ, forgives venial sin, strengthens us against temptation, and builds the Church as one Body.
Catholics believe in the Eucharist because Jesus taught it, the Apostles handed it on, and the Church has preserved it for 2,000 years.
🙏 “Jesus, I believe You are truly present in the Eucharist. Increase my faith.”
