Piaggio Xevo 125 - 2 flash error code

Note! That the LED should flash steadily all the time the ignition is off and the battery is connected.


My error flash sequence
Turn on - [1] x 0.7sec flash. Followed by [2] x 0.5sec flashes
1. Immobiliser is programmed
2. ** Transponder is not detected **
3. Ignition is not possible
Note! The immobiliser knows the ignition has been turned on but it has not been able to detect the transponder chip in the key.


--- Possible reason for transponder chip not being detected ---
1. The transponder chip is damaged or missing from the key.
2. Try another key.
3. The aerial is damaged, un-plugged or not correctly positioned
4. Check that the black plastic aerial housing is securely clipped into position around the ignition switch.
5. Inspect the pins in the plug and socket for signs of damage or corrosion.

6. ** Un-plug the aerial from the CDI and check the aerial for continuity **
Aerial resistance = 7 to 9 ohms. If resistance is wrong replace the aerial.

If it's a CDI / Immobiliser fault and you have the master key.
Replace with NEW cdi/immobiliser.
Use (Black) service key to check the engine starts and runs (only 2000rpm)
Program the immobiliser.
only use the service key and keep the master key in a safe place at home
