Alkyne:
*To prepare alkynes from terminal alkynes
From a terminal alkyne (RC≡CH), you can perform reactions leveraging its acidic hydrogen or the triple bond, such as creating acetylide ions with strong bases (NaNH₂) for alkylation to form internal alkynes, or undergoing hydroboration- oxidation to get aldehydes, or mercuric ion hydration to yield methyl ketones, essentially transforming its functional group through deprotonation, substitution, or addition.
