Now in an update, On 9th May 2023, Imran Khan went to the Islamabad High Court to attend two hearings in separate cases. Now here is something very interesting. Right before he got arrested, Imran Khan released a video of him speaking in a car. In the video he said, ‘You all know someone tried to assassinate me in November last year. I was shot in the leg. It happened in Punjab’s Wazirabad. The person who planned this assassination is a military man called ‘Dirty Harry’. Khan even said that this same person is responsible for the murder of Journalist Arshad Sharif as he became critical of Pakistan’s military for their involvement in the politics. Imran Khan said that even though he is an ex-PM, he is not able to file an FIR against this person. He said the military in Pakistan has become so strong and rich. But the people in Pakistan have become so poor. They do not even have food to eat and the military is enjoying life. He said he is going to fight the military till his last breath and hoped the people do the same. After posting the video Khan went to the court.

Suddenly, at the court when Khan was undergoing a biometric process, Pakistani paramilitary forces ‘Rangers’ broke open the glass window and took him away after beating his lawyers and Khan’s security staff. No police officials were present inside the room where Khan was arrested. His lawyer said, “I fell during the commotion. Rangers pepper sprayed him and took him away,” the lawyer added. PTI officials said this was not an official arrest. This is kidnapping. Khan has been taken to an unknown location and party officials say he is being tortured.

The "Dirty Harry" whom Imran has been referring to is Major-General Faisal Naseer. He is a senior officer of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He is a top ISI official and people call him a Super Spy.

Now after all this happened, Violent clashes have broken out in Pakistan between security forces and supporters of former prime minister Imran Khan. On the same day of his arrest, an angry mob stormed the residence of Lahore Corps Commander. They took whatever they could find. If one took away korma, and a big bottle of cola, some others partied with frozen strawberries. One person said, ‘I Have taken the peacock from the Corps Commander's house, this is public money which he had looted. I am taking it back," Major cities across the country saw PTI supporters block main highways to voice their anger.

On 12 May 2023, the Pakistan Supreme Court ordered Khan's release. Pakistan's Supreme Court has ruled that former Prime Minister Imran Khan's arrest earlier this week was illegal and that he should be released immediately.
