Non Finite Verb | Gerund | English Grammar
This is the fifth lecture based on 'The Verb'
parts of speech.
in this lecture I tried to explain the topic 'Gerund' in a very simple and easy way so that you may clear your doubts.
Gerund -
Gerund is a non -finite verb.It is formed with a verb (by adding 'ing') & acts as a noun.
E.g.- playing, swimming, learning, dancing.
The gerund can be used in many ways -
1) As a subject of a sentence.
2) As a direct object
3) As a complement of a verb 'to be'
4) As an object of a preposition
5) After a phrasal verb
6) In compound nouns
7) After some expression.
