How the grave of Sultan Shahabuddin was discovered and who constructed his Tomb ? This is a very amazing and interesting story. Sultan Shahabuddin Muhammad Ghori original name was Mu'izzuddin Muhammad bin Sam which was born in 1144. He renowned for laying the foundation of Muslim rule in India, conquering vast territories, and establishing Delhi Sultanate through his slave Qutb-ud-din Aibak after his death. Sultan Shahabuddin Ghori belonged to the Ghurid dynasty of Ghor, Afghanistan. Initially he assisted his elder brother Ghiyas-ud-din, becoming ruler of his own territories after Ghiyas-ud-din's death in 1202. He ruled on India from 1173 to 1206. Sultan Shahabuddin Ghori defeated the Indian Raja, Prithviraj Chauhan. At last he died on 15 March 1206. This historical Tomb was constructed by Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the nuclear scientist of Pakistan with his own resources. This historical tomb is situated in Dhamiak Village of Tehsil Sohawa District Jhelum. You can come here easily and visit this historical spot.
