The 1/32 scale IAR 80 from Special Hobby has been around for some time now and considering that I live very close to the factory where the IAR 80 were built, I thought I had to build one at some point.
Add to that the fact that I found the kit at a really low price, I jumped at the opportunity and here we are.
Apparently this is a sort of limited run kit so there was a bit more sanding, scraping and adjusting of parts to make them fit well.
A huge amount of sanding had to be done to the gear legs.
One of the upper wing halves was extremely warped and I had a difficult time fitting it. It was never going to go perfectly so I found the best compromise and deal with it after the glue dried.
All in all, the end result is very good and all the surfaces (wings and stabilisers) seem to be in the correct position.
This has been a huge project for me and I hope you enjoy watching.
