An encounter broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Wednesday evening between security forces and Pakistan-sponsored ter*orists. Three Jaish-e-Mohammed ter*orists are believed to be trapped and are currently engaged in a gunfight with the forces.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) launched the operation after local residents reported spotting a suspicious person around 4 pm. The militants were engaged in the dense forest area of Kamadh Nullah. Confirming the encounter, IGP Bhim Sen Tuti said that SOG Kathua is actively engaged with terrorists in the forest region.

Additional security reinforcements have been deployed to nearby Kahog village to assist in the operation. A high alert has been sounded across the district as forces continue to secure the mountainous terrain and track the hiding militants.
