In this six-talk series, Reb Anderson Roshi discusses the way of bodhisattvas -- those who in Mahayana Buddhism aspire to and develop enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings. Although this heroic aspiration is vast and wonderful, it is not realized without training. Reb offers instruction and encouragement in a threefold practice to realize wisdom and compassion for the welfare of the world.
This series of talks was given on May 19-20, 2012 in Sacramento, CA, at an event sponsored by the Sacramento Buddhist Meditation Group.
Reb Anderson was ordained by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, founder of San Francisco Zen Center, in 1970. He received dharma transmission in 1983, served as abbot of SFZC from 1986 to 1995, and is currently senior dharma teacher. He lives with his family at Green Gulch Farm in Marin County, one of SFZC's practice places.
