Private music. Before WWII, it wasn't really a thing. Then we got the transistor, and recorded music went portable. We didn't know where it would take us.
In this video, I walk through the evolution of personal listening—from my dad's Hitachi transistor radio to the Sony Walkman to streaming and AirPods. What did we gain? What did we lose?
