King Youngblood is focused on reclaiming rock music, specifically Black-fronted rock packed with strong song writing, Afropunk attitude, and an undeniably exhilarating live show. King Youngblood’s album Big Thank was chosen as one of the top 20 albums of 2022 by The Seattle Times, and their upcoming album Outrun Your Shadow is slated for release in Spring 2025. King Youngblood is also the founder and centerpiece of the Black and Loud National and International Tour and Festival.

Arts access and engagement is a critical part of youth development. This is the 25th year that MOPOP has contributed to Seattle’s music scene through our Sound Off! program for under-21 musicians.
