The Philippine Bar Association on Monday (February 16) offered to host the proposed debate between former Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Senator Rodante Marcoleta on the West Philippine Sea and is awaiting confirmation from both parties.
Carpio has accepted the earlier challenge, while Marcoleta’s response remains pending.
Marcoleta earlier said he wants a friendly debate with Carpio, Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela, and maritime law expert Jay Batongbacal before he accepts an invite to board a maritime domain awareness flight to Kalayaan Island Group. — with reports from David Dizon, Job Manahan, ABS-CBN News
