Relax into a peaceful cab-view ride from Yverdon-les-Bains up to Sainte-Croix and back on the charming metre-gauge Yverdon–Ste-Croix railway line, a classic meters-gauge regional railway in the Swiss canton of Vaud, owned and operated by TRAVYS (Transports Vallée-de-Joux–Yverdon-les-Bains–Sainte-Croix).

Opened in 1893 and spanning about 24 km, the line climbs steadily from the lakeside town of Yverdon-les-Bains — where it leaves the standard-gauge SBB network behind — up into the foothills of the Jura, gaining more than 600 m in altitude as it heads toward the scenic mountain town of Sainte-Croix. Along the way you’ll pass through pine woods, rocky outcrops and open countryside, see small stations like La Brinaz, Valeyres-sous-Montagny, Vuiteboeuf and Baulmes, and enjoy peaceful rural views framed by the Jura landscape.

The single-track line is electrified at 15 kV 16.7 Hz AC, with gentle curves and gradients that make for a smooth ride both uphill to Sainte-Croix and downhill on the return to Yverdon-les-Bains. Filmed from the driver’s cab with natural sound only, this video offers an immersive, rhythmic experience — a perfect journey for railway enthusiasts and anyone seeking calm, scenic rail footage.
