国境・非武装地帯があります。

一時は首脳会談が開かれるなど融和の動きもありましたが、いまも
完全な平和には至っていません。
それでもソウルの人々は、分断を乗り越え、平和を願い

歴史をたどれば、朝鮮王朝時代から600年の都。
景福宮や北村韓屋村には、古き王都の息づかいが残ります。
名物はキムチやサムギョプサル、そして寒い冬に恋しくなるスンドゥブチゲ。食の温かさは、どこか人々の心にも似ています。
緊張と平和、伝統と未来が交わる街。
ここは、朝鮮半島の鼓動が響く場所──ソウルです。
Seoul is one of the world's leading megacities, driving Asia's economy and culture.
Home to IT companies and Korean culture, Seoul boasts one of the world's largest economies. Modern skyscrapers coexist with the scenery of an ancient capital.
However, just 50 kilometers north of this glamorous metropolis lies the DMZ, the border with North Korea.
Seoul is the capital on the "front line" of the divided nation of South Korea.
Though its daily life is peaceful, it is also a place constantly confronting tension.
Relations between North and South Korea have seen repeated cycles of dialogue and conflict.
While there were moves toward reconciliation, including summit meetings,
complete peace has yet to be achieved.
Nevertheless, the people of Seoul overcome division and live each day hoping for peace.
Historically, Seoul has been the capital for 600 years, dating back to the Joseon Dynasty.
The atmosphere of this ancient royal capital remains at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. Specialties include kimchi, samgyeopsal, and sundubu jjigae, a dish longed for in the cold winter. The warmth of food is somehow similar to the hearts of its people.
A city where tension and peace, tradition and the future intersect.
This is Seoul, the place where the pulse of the Korean Peninsula resonates.
