The Wolfcraft 4650000 dowel bar is a good tool for joining dowel pins. It also has the advantage of being made in the 32 mm System, which is the standard for fixing fittings and shelf pins to cabinet bodies in the furniture industry. It also allows drilling of holes for shelf pins with a diameter of 5 mm. However, drilling with a hand drill is time-consuming and, above all, the quality and cleanliness of the drilled hole on the surface of laminated boards does not reach the quality of machine drilling of holes with a milling cutter or CNC machine.
I have constructed a simple jig that mounts in place of the base plate for the popular MAKITA RT0702CX2J small router. There are markings on the jig for alignment with the edge of the part so that the drilled holes are 37mm from the edge of the part also there are markings on it showing the axis of the drilled hole. It is also possible to locate the position of the drilled holes from the edge of the Wolfcraft rail, which is 150 mm from the axis of the drilled hole.
