In this video, Michael Shannon covers how to Rescue, Rollback, and Commit in Junos. These are some of his favorite commands, and they can save you quite a bit of time and keep you out of trouble if you use them properly.

Rescue, Rollback, and Commit are incredibly powerful commands in Junos and can quickly take you from novice to expert level.

Once you have a basic configuration established, you’ll want to create a rescue configuration. This can either be your own custom setup, or it can be a known state that you can roll back to at any time. Michael will demonstrate how to set this up in Junos.

As he sets up the rescue, he’ll also show you how to use rollback to see which ones you have, as well as confirm that the rescue has been configured correctly.

Finally, he’ll walk you through the commit command, explain its utility, and then demonstrate how to use it.
