PLA conducts Joint Sword-2024A military drills surrounding Taiwan Island

Описание: The People's Liberation Army Thursday began two-day joint military drills named Joint Sword-2024A around the island of Taiwan. These exercises are taking place in the Taiwan Strait and surrounding areas, including Kinmen, Matsu, Wuqiu, and Dongyin.

According to Li Xi, the spokesperson for the theater command, the drills involve the army, navy, air force, and rocket force. The main activities include joint sea-air combat readiness patrols, and conducting precise strikes on strategic targets.

The operations extend to maritime and aerial maneuvers close to the island of Taiwan and are designed to enhance the real combat abilities of the forces.

Li Xi also stated that the exercises aim to counter "Taiwan independence" separatists and send a clear warning to external forces against interference and provocation.
