Описание: There are several features in the 48 vows:
(1) The Foremost of all Vows – the scale, the depth, the extent, the difficulty of the vows involved , and the benefits of merits and virtues accomplished as a result of the vows, surpass the fundamental vows of all other Buddhas and bodhisattvas.

(2)The Foremost of all Lands – Taking the essence of all other Buddhas’ pure lands, his Land is adorned with the utmost serenity. No other pure land can compare with it. It is the complete manifestation of the essence of truth. It is the unconditioned realm of Nirvana.

(3)His Light outshines all others. – When Dharmakara Bodhisattva became the Buddha, his light permeated all the worlds in the great cosmos, transcending the lights of all other Buddhas. Thus, his awesome power to deliver sentient beings arising from his merits and virtues also exceeds that of all Buddhas.

(4)His Name is the Foremost of all Names – Dharmakara Bodhisattva vowed to include all the merits and virtues, which he had accumulated in his cultivation, into his Buddha Name – Namo Amituofo. The merits and virtues of his Name transcend that of all other Buddhas, bodhisattvas, sages, devas, sutras and Dharani. They also surpass the merits and virtues of all other Dharma teachings. His Name is praised and extolled by all Buddhas, bodhisattvas, devas and demons. It is universally popular in all the worlds.

(5) He is Foremost in delivering sentient beings – There are many sentient beings who have very heavy karma due to evil deeds. They have all their virtuous roots cut off. They are abandoned by all Buddhas. Dharmakara Bodhisattva vowed to deliver them all. Sentient beings who are suffering in all types of hell will all be delivered. Since Dharmakara became a Buddha, the infinite light inherent in his Name is there to deliver sentient beings in all the worlds in the ten directions, and in all the times in the eternal future. He saves us all, unceasingly and tirelessly.

Two characteristics of Amitabha’s deliverance.
(1) The Buddha’s deliverance is proactive
(2) His deliverance is available to all people equally and without discrimination.
What is the method Amitabha Buddha uses to deliver us? Amitabha Buddha delivers sentient beings through his name of Light. His name emits infinite light that permeates the worlds in the ten directions. He also has all the Buddhas in the ten directions praising and extolling his name. In this way, Amitabha Buddha makes karmic connections with all sentient beings. He plants the seed of his name in their hearts and nurtures the growth of their virtuous roots. This is how he leads us all to recite his name “Namo Amituofo”.

When someone recites Namo Amituofo, the Buddha’s light finds him immediately. That light shines on him day and night without exception. When that person approaches death, the Buddha will appear with a multitude of sacred beings from the Land of Bliss to receive him by emitting the light. This is accompanied by wonderful fragrance and music. It gives that person great joy and comfort. He follows the Buddha, transforming instantly by rebirth in a lotus flower in the seven-jeweled pond in the Land of Bliss. The lotus flower blossoms at once, and his body is bright and pure, just like all the great bodhisattvas there.

What are the benefits of Amitabha’s deliverance?
(1) benefit in the present life – A person who recites the name of Amitabha is embraced and protected by the Buddha’s light. He will be safe from calamities, experience peace and joy, and have his karmic obstructions cleared. His blessings and good fortune will grow, his health condition improve, and his relationship with other people become harmonious. He will find purpose in life. His mind will be in a state of peace and serenity.

(2)Benefit of rebirth – When that person approaches death, Amitabha Buddha will appear, in person, with a multitude of sacred beings from the Land of Bliss to receive him. The Buddha emits radiant light to embrace and empower him. He feels great joy, and his sufferings from all mental and physical illnesses fade away. With right mindfulness, he sits on the jeweled lotus flower, being escorted by the Buddha. He arrives at the seven-jeweled pond in the Land of Bliss in a flash and is reborn by transformation inside the lotus flower. Instantly, he attains enlightenment and has an epiphany about the truth of the universe. Gaining infinite light and infinite life in body and mind, he co-exists with the Truth, totally free from the suffering of reincarnation. He becomes a Buddha quickly. With great compassion and kindness, he has empathy for all the sinful sentient beings who are suffering. Tirelessly, he is present in the ten directions simultaneously, delivering his parents, siblings and all sentient beings who have karmic connection with him from countless kalpas before. As a result, all the sentient beings he has delivered are all reborn in the Land of Bliss.
