Growing up, I always hoped that one day I would become successful — not for myself, not for luxury, not for fame — but so I could take care of my parents.
I dreamed of buying them a beautiful home, of giving them comfort, of making sure that when they grew old and frail, they would never worry about anything again.
It was my biggest wish.
My motivation.
My promised return for the sacrifices they made.

And then life… did what life does.
I lost my father a few years ago.
And not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could have one more day with him.
One more conversation.
One more moment.
Just to say everything I didn’t get to say.
Just to hear his voice again.

If I had even a fraction of what Meghan has —
a fraction of the money, the influence, the resources —
I would have made sure my parents lived the rest of their lives in comfort and peace.
Worry-free.
Loved.
Cherished.
Safe.

But she has all of it — all of it —
and still chooses distance.
Still chooses abandonment.
Still chooses silence.

That kind of coldness…
that level of ingratitude…
feels unreal to me.
Unfathomable.
Almost inhuman.

Because time is fleeting.
Everything can change in a heartbeat.
You can lose someone before you even realize what you had.
I know that pain.
I live with that pain.

And seeing her — someone with wealth, power, comfort, opportunity —
cast her own father aside as though he’s nothing…
It feels like watching a tragedy she doesn’t even understand she’s creating.

I wrote this song because her actions clash with every instinct I have about love, family, and gratitude.
This isn’t about gossip.
This isn’t about drama.
This is about human decency.
About honoring the people who carried you when you had nothing.
About remembering the hands that fed you, the voice that encouraged you, the heart that chose you every single day.

And when someone turns their back on that —
when someone abandons the person who gave them life —
it shakes something inside me.
It brings up all the grief I carry, all the longing, all the understanding of how short life really is.

Maybe that’s why this hurts to witness:
Because I would give anything — anything —
for one more day with my father.
And she, with every resource in the world,
won’t give hers even one moment.

That is why I wrote this song.
To capture that heartbreak.
To echo that truth.
To remind the world — and maybe even her —
that time is running,
and regret always arrives too late...
