An NGO advocating accessible, descent, affordable and sustainable development for all is urging the government to articulate effectively the proposed land legal framework to avoid creating controversy arising from the public once they are not properly consulted and sensitized over the reforms.
Shelter and Settlements Alternatives: Uganda Human Settlements Network stress that Uganda has got adequate land legal frameworks stipulated in article 26 and 237 of the 1995 constitution of Uganda.
The organization’s plea comes just a day after the Minister for Lands, Hon. Betty Amongi announced the institution of a new committee to look into issues surrounding government and public land.
