In 6th century BC Sicily, the tyrant Phalaris devised one of the most horrifying execution methods in history — the Brazen Bull.
A hollow bronze statue in the shape of a bull… a victim locked inside… a fire blazing underneath until the metal glowed red-hot. But the cruelty didn’t stop there — cleverly designed pipes transformed the victim’s screams into the chilling sound of a roaring bull.
This brutal method wasn’t just an execution — it was a public warning and a tool of fear. Ironically, history claims Phalaris himself eventually met the same fate.
