Culdesac hired Opticos to lead the master plan, architecture, and overall design direction to implement their vision for car-free living. The design introduces new desert-responsive product types unlike anything on the market, and the compact, walkable urban plan, which does not allow cars to enter, will deliver a built environment unlike anything that has ever been built in the United States.
There is a mixed use component next to the light rail station that will have a co-working space, a coffee shop, a small market, a restaurant, food vendors, and personal services. This project demonstrates how car-free living, the use of technology, and thoughtful design response to the growing demand for more diverse housing choices can inform the future of multifamily.
