1. SOUNDBITE (English) Stephen Groves, The Associated Press:
"I'm right outside the room at the Capitol where House lawmakers tried to interview Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein. She cited her Fifth Amendment rights to not answer any questions. She was doing this through video call from a federal prison camp in Texas. Lawmakers were at the Capitol. As they came out of the room, one of the lawmakers, Republican Representative Andy Biggs had a message that clearly pertained to Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Stephen Groves, The Associated Press:
"Now what happens next is lawmakers are heading to Department of Justice headquarters today. STORYLINE:
Lawmakers tried Monday to interview Ghislaine Maxwell, but the former girlfriend and confidante of Jeffrey Epstein invoked her Fifth Amendment rights and declined to answer questions that could incriminate her.
Maxwell was questioned by video call from the federal prison camp in Texas, where she is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.
She has come under renewed scrutiny as lawmakers investigate how Epstein, a well-connected financier, was able to sexually abuse underage girls for years.
