A festival is an important aspect of the cultural heritage which is closely associated with the human culture and is transmitted from generation to generation.
West Bengal is famous for its cultural heritage and the uniqueness of its traditions. There are a lot of festivals therefore every season and every occasion like Durga puja, Diwali, Ratha Yatra, Vasant Panchami, Holi, Eid, Muharam, Christmas and many more.
Apart from these some rural festivals also here like Gajan or Charak ( Mainly West Midnapur), Bera Utsav ( Murshidabad), Jhapan (Bishnupur / Bankura), Chhata Parav (Purulia), Tusu Parav (Purulia), Vadu Parav (Purulia/Bankura), shikar Utsav (Purulia) .
