Black tea contains at least two molecules that were scientifically proven to stimulate hair growth :

epigallocatechin-3-gallate (also known as EGCG)
caffeine

EGCG is predominantly found in green tea and carob flour. But you can also find it in smaller quantities in black tea, pecans, apples, hazelnuts, raw cranberries, blackberries, raspberries and plums.

Caffeine can also be found in cocoa beans, coffee, kola nuts, guarana and green tea. Black tea has more caffeine than green tea.
