Apprentis debuts on Piston Recordings with the deep, lush tones on his three track EP titled Your Love. Based in Amsterdam, Apprentis has been churning out quality vibes for the last couple of years and recently he has taken to the decks at various clubs around Amsterdam to the delight of many crowds. Each week he explores new, rare and experimental tunes on his Mixcloud podcast. He already has an impressive release count on several labels and towards the end of 2018 he featured in an insightful write up on King Street Sounds as part of the release of Realness on Street King. A pleasure to have him here at Piston, definitely an artist to watch for the future.

Smooth, authentic drums greet us on the intro to Your Love which are followed by a plucky bass and funky wah wah guitar lick. The track delves deep into house music while retaining a minimalist structure with an impactful stance. Cool vocals sound off in the distance as groovy chords layer up to create a nice, expertly crafted dancefloor track. The perfect fodder for any set builder that will not disappoint.

I’m Okay intros with soft pianos and rising hi hats that are soon joined by a well-rounded thumping kick drum and meandering bass combi. The track takes on an urban vibe that will easily translate to the floors. Warm chords fill the spectrum alongside funky guitar riffs that add so much character to the sound. The bassline remains prominent, mesmerizing with its depth and warmth making this one an absolute must have for the late-night session.

Winter is a sublime, pacey deep house joint filled with beautifully crafted sounds that deliver a warm groove. Soft and melodic pads sweep over the sound as a chunky kick drum dishes out a solid rhythm alongside cool, crispy hats and percussions. The chords are magical as they lure you into the deepness of the groove. A top-notch effort that will be a welcome addition in any collection.
