Hilary Duff is the downtrodden stepdaughter of wicked stepmother Jennifer Coolidge, who keeps her in the attic as a servant. Things look up when she unknowingly meets the school quarterback Chas Michael Murray in a chatroom and agrees to meet him at a school dance.

The glass slipper is replaced by a Samsung flip phone in this 21st century retelling of Cinderella, also starring Regina King.
