The new General Education building at the Wendell, N.C., campus of Wake Technical Community College was built with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. Early in the building design process, Wake Tech’s project team engaged with Duke Energy’s New Construction Energy Efficiency Design Assistance (NCEEDA) service to determine the net costs and savings of making energy efficiency improvements. The result? Rewarding program incentives and ongoing energy savings that can now be rolled into future building projects.
