One of the important elements of the basic structure of our Constitution doctrine decided by the majority judgement in Keshavananda Bharati case (AIR 1973 SC 1461) is Separation of powers between the Legislature, the Executive and the Judiciary, that is, three organs of the State. It means Parliament under its constituent power provided under Article 368 of the Constitution can not disturb or interfere with or obliterate this separation of powers.
