Security researchers just exposed Discord's age verification partner Persona by finding unprotected source code on a government server. The code reveals Persona runs 269 background checks on users, compares selfies to politicians using facial recognition, maintains biometric data for three years, and has direct pipelines to file reports with FinCEN and Canadian intelligence agencies. Every suspicion about Discord's age verification being a surveillance operation was correct, and it's somehow worse than anyone predicted.
