While every effort has been made to maintain historical accuracy, the uniform and webbing are all home-made, and several props acquired may be slightly anachronistic. However, the purpose of this video is to evoke an immersive, atmospheric warfare, so I hope you can forgive me! This World War 1 ASMR roleplay is a little unusual, to the extent that it isn’t always relaxing. There’s the usual up-close personal attention and soft-spoken dialogue, with a kindly medic seeing to your wounds and patching you up with historically period medical tools, but the theme is fairly gritty and realistic.

This historical roleplay is intended to be an immersive first-person cinematic experience, so while it’ll hopefully help you to relax at points, you may find yourself on edge or upset. However, I have found that a good ASMR technique is to present a scenario of distress or uncertainty, and slowly reassure the viewer that it will be okay. And I hope that this video does that. I also hope that the video’s taste level is all right – I am fascinated by human conflict and the futility of war but am very much aware that it is a difficult topic to discuss, and perhaps one that shouldn’t even be touched within the theatre of ASMR. But I am proud of what I have made and I hope that it treads the line enough to be emotionally involved, touching, and perhaps… even relaxing.

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧

ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. 📽 What is FPC? 🎞

FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds – just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos – but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.
