Restoring trust: pathways to building police integrity in South Africa

Allegations of corruption at the highest levels of the South African Police Service (SAPS) are currently under scrutiny at two major policing inquiries. But what is the scale and nature of police corruption in the country? What steps have been taken to tackle the problem, and how should we evaluate whether these initiatives are working?

This seminar will discuss police corruption and launch a new Institute for Security Studies (ISS) report on how to strengthen responses.
