They may retreat into silence as a way to manipulate you, hoping that you will chase after them. This period of silence is often a tactic to regain control in the relationship.

Regardless of the reasons behind their silence, it is crucial to understand that you will experience this quiet phase. You might be wondering why the narcissist chooses to go quiet. The answer lies in their own internal struggle. When they transition from you to a new supply, they often burn the bridge with you. They may have told you that they no longer love you, that they don’t care, or that they do not want you in their life anymore. These hurtful actions create a significant divide between you and them.

Once they move on to this new supply, they may realize that this new relationship does not fulfill them in the same way you did.
