Spike Island stars Elliott Tittensor (SHAMELESS), Nico Mirallegro (THE VILLAGE, UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS), Emilia Clarke (GAME OF THRONES) and newcomers Adam Long, Jordan Murphy and Oliver Heald, the film is directed by Mat Whitecross (SEX & DRUGS & ROCK & ROLL, THE ROAD TO GUANTANAMO, ASHES), written by writer and actor Chris Coghill (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, SHAMELESS) and Produced by Fiona Neilson and Esther Douglas of Fiesta Productions.

Elliott Tittensor
Elliott began his professional acting career on British television taking on a number of parts in BBC1 dramas including TRUE DARE KISS, MOVING ON and SILENT WITNESS before taking on a long running role in the British Channel 4 series SHAMELESS. SPIKE ISLAND directed by Mat Whitecross, produced by Fiona Neilson & Ester Douglas of Fiesta Productions, is Elliott's second feature film role. In 2012, Elliott was named as one of Screen International's Stars of Tomorrow. Elliott is currently working on Clio Barnard's new feature film THE SELFISH GIANT.

Elliott Tittensor, who is probably best known for his role as Carl Gallagher in the British television comedy drama 'Shameless' was cast in the role Gary 'Tits' Titchfield the lead singer of and central figure of the group. "I loved the script", says Tittensor, "it has a great balance of comedy and seriousness. It sounds weird but I had a proper strong feeling that I was, not made to do it, but I had to do it." Mat Whitecross recalls, "as soon as we met Elliott it completely clicked. He read the lines in a way that sounded completely right, he just had something immediately engaging about him which is not something you can bottle, it's not something you can think of, but he just feels like a star". Neilson continues, "from then on we cast around Elliott and found the other leads through a mixture of known faces, open auditions, then school and college trawls lead by the fantastically hard working Jane Ripley, whose vision and efforts for the film were incredible."
