Peter Prelleur writes this vibrant voluntary for a ‘cornet’, a type of sound produced by many different pipes playing together.
This imitates the sound of a brass instrument, but in fact it’s just a specific combination of pipes.

Thomas Allery is an organist, harpsichordist and music director. He is organist at St Mary-le-Bow Church in the City of London and a founding member of period group Ensemble Hesperi.
