Mutabaruka, at the Kilimanjaro Club in Manhattan, May 18, 1990.
There was a time, in the late 80s-early 90s, here in NYC, when cocaine found its way into the ganja world, the reggae scene, even the Rasta community. Some reasoned about it...linking it to the "white rock" in Revelations and transferred a ritualistic a pracctice to their smokes. Probably taboo for me to talk about it ...fortunately I have Mutabaruka live and direct, via time capsule 1990, to do it for me—and you. "Drug Kulcha" and Johnny Drughead."
The band is superb. We have Desi Jones on drums and Maurice Gordon on guitar. Looking forward to I promise to track down all the musicians' names shortly.
