From the album KIDS' STUFF, with Judi Dench as narrator, here's the King's Singers version of three nursery rhymes they recorded in 1986 - HUMPTY DUMPTY - OLD KING COLE - THE GRAND OLD DUKE OF YORK. The arrangement is by Paul Hart, with "Furry Bear" as intro (by A. A. Milne). I think we should concede that the arrangement is probably not exactly what most children would have fun listening to, but is, as usual, in the high standards of the King's Singers.
On this occasion the King's Singers were:
Jeremy Jackman and Alastair Hume (c.t.);
Robert Chilcott (t.);
Anthony Holt and Simon Carrington (br.);
Colin Mason (bs.)
I liked the idea of inserting In the video some (beautiful) drawings/pictures from two old books I've kept since my childhood: they are, in order of appearance in every rhyme, by Brian Wildsmith (1964) and by Raymond Briggs (1966).
