Wednesday night’s District Semifinal features two conference powers meeting on a neutral floor.

Woodmore (17-6, 13-2 SBC Bay), led by Head Coach Kyle Clair, finished second in the SBC Bay Division and are coming off a strong sectional run. The Wildcats defeated #3 seed Gibsonburg 50-42 to claim the sectional title and have won three straight, allowing just 31.3 points per game while scoring 50.4 per contest. Their defense and rebounding have fueled a balanced attack all season.

New London (20-3, 14-0 Firelands), coached by Eric Mitchell, enters as the #2 seed and Firelands Conference Champions for the third straight season. The Wildcats have won 43 consecutive conference games and bring a nine-game winning streak into districts, including dominant wins over Western Reserve (46-18), Crestview (46-33), and South Central (56-19).

With both teams defending at a high level, expect a physical semifinal where execution and composure late will decide who advances to Saturday’s District Final (Feb. 26 – 3 PM).
