Battle Born // Can You Cold Start a Cummins Onan QG 5500 LP Generator with a Lithium Battery Bank?

Описание: How many amps does it take to cold start an RV propane generator? This is one of the questions I had before purchasing my current fifth wheel, a Jayco Pinnacle 37MDQS, that I spec'd with a Cummins Onan QG 5500 LP (propane) generator. It's particularly important if you plan to upgrade to lithium batteries on your RV, as lithium batteries aren't necessarily intended to start engines. However, battery manufactures like Dragonfly Energy provision their Battle Born batteries with a surge rating, in this case 200 amps maximum for 30 seconds. So with my lithium battery bank of two Battle Born 100Ah batteries, is that enough to reliably and consistently start up my Onan 5500 LP generator? In today's video I'll demonstrate with a live test showing the amps needed in a real-world situation. My hope is this video will help you if you're in the same boat as me with an RV generator and researching a lithium battery upgrade.
