Our Narrowboat Quest : Flashes and Salt Mines
Join us on our Narrowboat Dunworkin as we continuously cruise the Inland waterways of England and Wales. Living Off Grid.
We’ve reached the end of the navigable River Weaver at Winsford. Winding on the bottom flash we make our way to the visitor moorings where we fill up with water and provisions. (Winsford Flash)
We make our way downstream where we pass mountains of rock salt and industrial waste and the oldest and deepest rock salt mine in the country. We soon leave the industrial landscape behind and navigate the Weaver at its most attractive, a valley flanked by steep hills and mature woodland known as The Vale Royal Cut.
