Karnataka SEC Writes To CEC To Stall Voter List Revision for Bengaluru Civic Polls | India Today

Описание: The Karnataka State Election Commission has formally requested the Chief Election Commissioner to not undertake a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list for the five municipal corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority until after the elections are conducted. In a letter from State Election Commissioner Sangresh to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the commission highlighted a potential shortage of manpower. It was noted that using the same state officials for both the revision and the subsequent election preparations would be "very tiresome for the people and officials here in the state." This request also comes in light of a court order to publish the final voter list by November 1st. The elections for the five newly formed corporations in Bengaluru are anticipated to be held by December or January.
