Today's instalment brings Legend of the Potato (Furry Potato) & I, to the public sidewalks outside this house of worship as we exercised our rights to record what we could see & hear with our cameras. I had arrived on scene about 50 minutes after Furry began her documenting.
here's a link to her version to see what went down prior to my arrival: • Meet Johnson & Friends
Once I got there she was already being confronted by an individual who was apparently referring to her as a thing, because once the individual made contact with me, he referred to me as this 2nd thing, as well as an it. I remained silent during this part of the encounter, with the individual, who later said his name was Joey. He mentioned he'd called police because he didn't like that Furry was recording cars, license plates, as well as the camera positions on the building. No crime in any of that. L.A.P.D. arrived a short time later, 3 officers in total. They were trying hard to get us to talk & answer their questions as to why we were recording & such. One of the officers used the ploy that he simply wanted to have a conversation with us. Nope, They are there to investigate after a call for service. One of the other officers told Joey, we weren't doing anything illegal, but if we went inside to disrupt the service, that would be a separate issue & urged him to call back. After police left, another point of contact that stood out was from a driver who was passing by, stopped, rolled his window down questioning & often times raising his voice wanting to know why I was recording him. I let him know there was no need to yell. He then pulled over in the red zone and got out, claiming he would call police. Joey came back out to let the driver know that police were already there, I was trying his best to talk to the driver , telling him not to pay attention to us & that's what we wanted. As furry was recording the interior of the vehicle ( thanks to the Plainview doctrine), the driver began threatening Furry with physical violence, Furry kept her space between the irate driver as best she could. When the driver got back in his vehicle, he mentioned it probably wouldn't be a crime to run her over with his car. The driver once again got out, this time swinging arms, lunging forward & making kicking motions towards Furry. I give her credit for her quick moves in keeping her distance as best she could. The driver finally got back in his vehicle & drove away. With the threats that were made. Furry Potato did some research & later found out the irate driver is a famous fashion designer.
Police were never re dispatched to the scene, as we continued recording & had a couple more encounters that would soon follow.
Thank you all for taking the time out of your day to watch this installment & as always, I invite you to chime in below in the comments with your thoughts on this one !
Also, a shout-out goes to the Legend of the Potato herself, Furry Potato. Thank you for the collaboration at this location.
