King Darius was the father of Vahram who died tragically at the hands of Queen Thomyris. He sacrifices himself to save Vahram by giving him the power of Simurgh but unfortunately, it corrupts him. Apparently, King Darius gets corrupted in death as well because he turns into an undead towering king.
