The World Health Organization guideline for indoor air formaldehyde concentration is 0.1 mg/m3 (0.08 ppm). The California Air Resources Board recommends an “action level” of 0.1228 mg/m3 (0.1 ppm) and a “target level” of 0.0614 mg/m3 (0.05 ppm) or lower for homes

Note the data logging feature is not really useful for logging trace amounts. Still, love this meter.

Remember it's a great meter for me so far but for trace amounts , it's only as good as the calibration that you do. Need a clean air sample / space to calibrate then meter essentially compares to that.

Also keep in mind that both airborne pesticide and mold exposures might show up on the TVOC reading, but they are toxic in such trace amounts that the meter lacks resolution to display values that small.

Some of the potentially harmful emissions from indoor air combustion (wood, natural gas..) include: nitrogen dioxide, nitrous oxide, sulfur oxides, hydrogen cyanide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, formaldehyde, particulate matter, and hydrocarbons from natural gas fumes such as butane, propane, pentane, methyl pentane, benzene, and xylene. The indoor levels of these pollutants are determined by the amount of fuel burned and the rate of exchange with outdoor air.

The primary effects of exposure to gas fumes are on the cardiovascular and nervous systems, but they can affect any organ of the body. Some of the earliest symptoms from exposure to gas fumes include: depression, fatigue, irritability, inability to concentrate and neurological damage.

Hazardous fumes can leak at the pipe joints and remain undetected, especially if they occur under flooring. In addition, every pilot light adds fumes, and the burning process itself releases fumes into the air.

Chronic exposure can result in multiple chemical sensitivities. because carbon monoxide has the ability to interfere with the detoxification pathways in the liver, allowing the accumulation of toxic substances. Other effects of chronic carbon monoxide exposure include heart arrhythmia, decreased cognitive abilities, confusion, and fatigue. Because it is odorless and can not be detected through smell there are many cases of carbon monoxide related-deaths each year. https://hbelc.org
