Naia is one of the best dive sites on Hawaii's Big Island. It's got almost everything! You will often see spotted eagle rays, sandbar sharks, tiger sharks, hellers barracuda, massive schools of goatfish, loads of eels, schools of snapper, and cryptic fish like the devil scorpion or even the occasional flying gurnard! The name naia means dolphin in Hawaiian. The site is often visited by schools of wild Hawaiian spinner dolphins in the morning. The reefs here slope down to about 70 feet and there is a large stretch of sand where you may also find some interesting marine life. Large ulua or trevally will come in close to inspect you.
