JITADA KALVAN/SEA BASS CURRY/ Jitada curry made in aagri masala
spicy and tangy, can have with Bhakri,rice and also with roti.
Ingredients-
sea bass fish - 1 large
fresh grated coconut - 2tbsp
coriender- 2 ybsp
green chillis- 4to 5
garlic cloves - 8 to9
ginger - 1/2 inch piece
tomato - 1
turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
red chilli powder-5 tsp
garam masala powder - 1 tsp
tamarind pulp- 2 to 3 tbsp as per taste
salt as required
Method-
clean and wash fish. cut into pieces, add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder,
1 tsp red chilli powder and salt as per taste and marinate fish
pieces for 1/2 an hour.mean while ,take coconut, coriender,
green chillis, garlic,ginger and tomato , grind into fine paste
by adding some water.heat pan, add 2 to 3 tbsp oil and heat,
add 2 tbsp green paste and cook for 5 mins till oil separates.
add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 4 tsp red chilli powder and mix well.
now add some water and fish pieces. cover with lid by keeping water on it and cook for 5 mins on low flame. after 5 mins check,add hot water in fish curry and again cover and cook for 15 mins on low flame. after 15 mins check, add salt , garam masala powdr and 2 tbsp tamarind pulp.add sufficient water needed for gravy. cover and cook for last 5 mins . and jitada kalvan is ready. Serve with bhakri or rice.
