Guide to DC Offset Adjustment and Setting Bias on a Class AB Power Amp

Описание: A quick guide on how to set up your power amplifier, ie; to adjust the DC offset to Zero and set the Biasing voltage of an amplifier.
1. First, it s always good to put the Amplifier of a Series Bulb / Test Bulb while setup or testing. (ie; on 220v AC supply line a bulb is connected in series with the amplifier, to protect the amp from any short circuit)
2. The amplifier need to be in idle state, that is the speaker line should be disconnected and the input signal should be grounded.
3. It is better to adjust the DC offset first and then adjust the bias voltage.
4. I have tried to adjust the DC offset very close to Zero mV. Though a few mV to 10mv is tolerable for some cases.
5. Bias is measures at the output of VAS section, which is connected to the base of Pre-Driver transistors. here Q10 and Q11 in my case.
6. Adjust the Bias Voltage at +-550mV or max upto +-650mV with respect to ground.
7. Once again check the DCO after removing the series bulb and again check the Bias, re-adjust if necessary.
Now your amp is good to test with audio signal.. :)
