For today’s journey, I’ve chosen the Pennsylvania territory to showcase every terrestrial dinosaur species in Jurassic World Evolution 2—but with a twist: random patterns! This means every reveal will be a surprise for me as well. I’ve opted for the single-egg format to ensure the cleanest and most immersive visual experience possible.
Dino Fact Of The Day: 🦖 Ankylosaurus
Time period:
Ankylosaurus lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 68–66 million years ago, shortly before the mass extinction of the dinosaurs.
Maximum weight:
It is estimated to have reached a maximum weight of about 6–8 metric tons (6,000–8,000 kg), making it one of the largest known ankylosaurid dinosaurs.
Where it lived:
Fossils have been discovered in North America, particularly in regions that are now part of the United States and Canada, including areas such as Montana and Alberta. Its habitat likely consisted of floodplains, forests, and coastal lowlands.
Diet: Carnivore or herbivore:
Ankylosaurus was a herbivore. It fed mainly on low-growing vegetation such as ferns, shrubs, and other ground-level plants, due to its low head position and heavy body structure.
Estimated running speed:
Ankylosaurus was not built for speed. Scientific estimates suggest it could reach a top speed of approximately 10–15 km/h (6–9 mph), which is relatively slow but expected for a heavily armored dinosaur.
Beyond its famous armor, Ankylosaurus had incredibly complex, "crazy-straw" shaped nasal passages. New research suggests these weren't just for smell—they acted as a high-tech cooling system to regulate brain temperature and likely allowed the dinosaur to produce unique, low-frequency vocalizations that could travel for miles.
Production Note: All footage is captured within Jurassic World Evolution 2. For this video, each dinosaur is recorded individually using professional capture software, then the segments are combined and edited in the Filmora editing program, where music is added, color and sound are adjusted, and educational information is included. This video is created for a general audience, focusing on educational facts and the natural beauty of prehistoric life.
