STORYLINE

Israeli soldiers clashed with Palestinians in the West Bank town of Nablus on Thursday.

Palestinians threw stones at Israeli tanks patrolling the city.

The soldiers fired tear gas and rubber coated bullets at the protesters.

Several Palestinians were injured and taken to hospital.

Some Palestinian schoolchildren were also caught in the clashes.

One Palestinian school girl was taken to hospital after reportedly inhaling teargas.

The clashes followed the demolition of the home of a suspected Palestinian militant Firas Fide.

Israel forces razed the home early on Thursday.

Israel claims Fide was involved in launching a suicide bomb attack on a bus in Jerusalem in January which left 19 people dead.

The government also claims he was involved in launching suicide bomb attack in the Ariel settlement where three Israeli soldiers were killed on October 27, 2002.
