St. Annes International Kite Festival 2024

Описание: St. Annes International Kite Festival organised by SmileFactor10 in conjunction with Fylde council was held over the weekend of the 13th, 14th & 15th of September 2024.
We had an amazing time flying alongside many of our friends from the uk and beyond on the vast beaches of St. Annes.
The wind was light when we arrived on the Friday lunchtime and I was a little concerned that we might not be able to fly at the evenings night flight but the wind soon picked up in time for the glorious sunset and night flight.
There was one arena lit up by spotlights, another arena for LED kites and the artistic arena was set up with over 400 tealights for a lovely tribute to honour Nick James who recently passed away. Thank you to Francis and everyone involved in setting this up.

Unfortunately the Sunday brought rain and more rain and the difficult decision was made to cancel that days flying, it was the correct decision as the surface water on the sand would have made things very difficult for us all.

This film only shows a small amount of this festival as I was busy flying and therefore didn't get to visit the other arenas.
St. Annes International Kite Festival has become the largest kite event in the UK and it still has room to grow but not only is it the biggest it's also the friendliest. There were so many happy faces from both the fliers and the public with great public interaction.
